Oskar Cepan awards 2016

Julia Gryboś and Barbora Zentková became the winners of the 2016 Oskar Cepan awards for the top achievement of visual artists aged up to 35 years. The international 5-member jury highly appreciated their collages created out of the actual sense-perception of viewers involving sounds and images. Their work entitled Úder pěstí o zeď, co zní celý den or hitting a fist against a wall that plays all day long echoes the demolition of an old textile factory in Brno that used to house 60 art studios. Part of the award is a 2 month residential stay at Residency Unlimited in New York as well as the opportunity to install their individual exhibition next year in the Central Slovak Gallery in Banska Bystrica. The Oskar Čepan award has been organized by the Foundation - Centre for contemporary arts.
