The first volume of a book mapping the history of the Slovak cinematography was released at the beginning of March by Slovak film institute. The authors focused on the very beginning of movies production in this territory. The book starts in December 1896 and follows the development of the media until the end of 1969. Film historians Václav Macek and Jelena Paštéková show that local feature-length films began being shot in this territory no sooner than after WWII.
