Tatran turns 70

The fiction book of the year Som Paula was published by Tatran, the publishing house that turned 70 on the 19th September. "Tatran represents living cultural heritage," said Culture Minister Marek Maďarič adding that it is utterly important to be grateful for continuity in any kind of art. This house has survived the changes in political systems and played the key role in publishing the classical works of both Slovak and world literature. The 70 years of the first modern type of publisher in the territory of Slovakia was commemorated by the limited edition of Pavol Dobšinský's classic national stories.
