The release of the wannabe blockbuster depicting the life and death of the national hero general Milan Rastislav Štefánik will be delayed. With a budget exceeding EUR 4.5 million, one of the most expensive film productions ever made in Slovakia is procrastinating due to the conflict between the producer and the director. The director and scriptwriter Mariana Čengel Solčanská left the team already in October 2017. The ambitious project will be directed by the French Jérôme Cornuau. The film was planned to be premiered at the 2019 Cannes festival on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Milan Rastislav Štefánik. Due to the production delays, the plan is to premiere it in October next year.
