The 69th Berlin International Film Festival starts on Thursday, with Slovak professionals also participating. The animated film Šarkan by director Martin Smatana, depicting the loss of a beloved family member in a thoughtful way, will be screened in the Generation Kplus competition programme. Moreover, Slovak director Tereza Nvotová was enlisted in the Berlinale Talents 2019 section, while producer Wanda Adamík Hrycová will participate in the Emerging Producers event. The local film industry will be introduced to all professionals at the joint Czech, Slovak and Slovene stand at the European Film market, where you can browse through a book presenting Slovak film projects of 2018-2019. And, four more Slovak films will also be premiered at the Berlinale festival, which will run until 17th February.
