The Slovak National Gallery opens its exhibition entitled "From the Academy to Nature" on Thursday in Bratislava. Presenting different approaches of landscape painting in Central Europe, it focuses on the period of 1860-1890. This pioneering project tries to map the work of artists who moved between the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and contemporary visual art centres. The display includes masterpieces by Ladislav Mednyánsky, Václav Brožík and Zdenka Braunerová, among others. The exhibition will run until 30th June.
