Slovak film to compete in Karlovy Vary

As soon as the Cannes film festival, one of the top film events in the world, had finished, the Slovak Association of Film Clubs released the news that the Slovak film Let there be light was shortlisted for the main competition at the Karlovy Vary film festival in the Czech Republic. This A-class event will be held in this Czech spa resort from 26th June until 6th July. The Slovak feature film directed by Marko Škop presents a story of a Slovak guest-worker who, after returning home, finds out that his son became a member of home-grown militia and is involved in bullying and killing a classmate. The film, co-produced with RTVS, will be released in Slovak cinemas in September.
