Slovakia, for the time being, will not be sending troops to four NATO battalions to be deployed in eastern Europe under a decision reached at a NATO defence ministers meeting in Brussels. However, it will send 150 professional soldiers to join what is known as the V4 Training Mission in the three Baltic states. This was confirmed by Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš. He did not rule out that if NATO is satisfied with Slovak troops, they will be sent to other member states at a later date.
