Slovakia should focus on the consistency of its stances, public support for its strategic interests and coming closer within the European Union instead of growing apart, Slovak President Andrej Kiska said on Thursday in Bratislava as part of his speech at the 17th conference evaluating the Slovak Republic's foreign and European policy. He called on Slovak representatives to focus on building credibility in the key pillars and values of the country's foreign policy. In his speech at the same conference, Prime Minister Robert Fico said that it would be a great pity if Slovakia did not take advantage of its current position and significant successes in the transformation process. As he added, Slovakia should rank among those countries progressing faster than others.
