On Monday, Slovak tennis player Dominika Cibulková officially moved to the 4th position in the WTA ranking. She thus tied the best position of a Slovak single tennis player, recorded in 1988 by Miloslav Mečíř. This is, however, the best position in history for a Slovak female tennis player. Cibulková moved to the fourth place after the tournament in Indian Wells, ahead of the Romanian Simona Halep. German Angelique Kreber is currently the first in the ranking followed by American Serena Williams and Czech Karolína Plíšková. The Slovak number 2 player, Kristína Kučová, is in the 82nd position and Jana Čepelová is the number 105.
