Parking at state-run hospitals free of charge for patients

Parking on grounds belonging to hospitals which come under the remit of the Health Ministry should be made free for patients, according to Health Minister Tomáš Drucker (a Smer-SD nominee). The ministry has a total of 58 hospital carparks under its remit, with more than 20 of them currently subject to charges. Six of the parking areas are in the hands of private contractors. A newly established ministry office for governing subsidiary organisations has analysed individual parking contracts between hospitals and contractors, finding several of them to be disadvantageous for the hospitals. "We'll speak to statutory bodies individually on each legal relationship and the steps that will be taken," said Drucker.
