Government reacts to anti-corruption march

Approximately 10,000 people gathered in the streets of the Bratislava's downtown on Tuesday in a march against corruption. Apart from request to investigate big corruption scandals, organisers of the protest also called on Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, President of the Police Tibor Gašpar and Special Prosecutor Dušan Kováčik to step down. The representatives of the government responded by welcoming the fact that people are using their right to express their opinion. However, Culture Minister Marek Maďarič contradicted by pointing to 350,000 people who gave their vote to Interior Minister in the General Election in March 2016. Prime Minister Robert Fico said in his reaction, that the cabinet has been working on implementing anti-corruption measures. More on this topic later in today's program.
