Slovak soldiers operating in the Štefánik military group in Latvia are currently taking part in the 2017 Summer Shield multinational military training exercise, Defence Ministry spokeswoman Danka Capáková told TASR on Wednesday. The tactical military event, which falls under the NATO exercises, is taking place at the Adazi training area between April 17-30. In addition to 149 Slovaks, around 1,700 soldiers from 11 other NATO countries are participating in the military drill. This year's training event focuses on practising the units' reconnaissance, anti-tank and artillery capabilities.
