Police Raid in Office of Far-right MP

The National Crime Agency (NAKA) on Thursday pressed charges against an MP identified as Stanislav M., TASR learnt from Police Corps Presidium spokesman Martin Waldl. The MP, who represents the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) in Parliament, is facing charges of extremism along with the defamation of a nation, race and religion. Police were collecting evidence at the lawmaker's office in his presence. Stanislav M. declined to comment on the charges, but said that he would hold a press conference later in the day.
The accusations concern the lawmaker's statements on a social network website in which he made comments concerning several recipients of state honours with reference to their Jewish origin.
