Territorial cooperation in industry and infrastructure

The prime ministers of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria met in the Moravian city of Brno on Thursday. The main topics of their discussion included the development of industry and transport infrastructure, exchanging experience in dual education and problems besetting the labour market in the three countries. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that, for the sake of peace in Europe, it was of utmost importance to continue to bridge the gap between the EU's old and new member states. He also invited his two counterparts to a special session of Slovakia's Solidarity and Development Council that is scheduled to take place in Bratislava on June 29. The meeting should centre on what needs to be done to respond to the shortage of a qualified labour force.
