3% of Slovakia’s inhabitants born abroad last year

3% of the current inhabitants of the Slovak Republic were born in foreign countries in 2016, wrote TASR on Monday. According to data from the Slovak Statistical Office, most of them were born in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, Great Britain and Poland. The office also claims that the structure of the Slovakia's population is relatively stable. Last year, over 4.42 million people of Slovak nationality lived in the country, representing over 81%. The second largest was Hungarian nationality with 8.4%, followed by Roma nationality; 2%. Moreover, 1.3% foreigners lived in Slovakia last year, with most of them coming from the EU.
