Lajčák holds talks with both Trump and Lavrov in New York

UN reform, the Middle East peace process, migration, human rights, North Korea and relations between the USA and Russia. Those were the topics of a meeting between the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly - and Slovakia's Foreign Minister - Miroslav Lajčák, and American President Donald Trump, which took place in New York. Lajčák and Trump concurred that the UN should focus primarily on people. In New York, Miroslav Lajčák also met with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov. As Lajčák wrote on his social network profile, the statesmen agreed on the importance of the UN as a global platform that creates scope for constructive solutions to international issues. Reform proposals should therefore be aimed at streamlining the work of the organization.
