Slovak low income households are overcrowded

Approximately a third of low income households in Slovakia are overcrowded and do not meet standards, wrote SITA, citing Eurostat on Monday. In Slovakia, the average space per person is 1.3 rooms, whereas, in Belgium, for example, it is 2.5 rooms. According to Eurostat, the so-called bedroom standard is met when each adult couple as well as each adult person over 18 has one separate room to their disposal. The standard also indicates that a maximum of two children under twelve can share a room. Older children of opposite sex should have separate rooms. However, in Slovakia only 40% of children have separate rooms.
