Anti-corruption march takes place on Monday

Thousands of people are expected to take part in the anti-corruption march organized by students in downtown Bratislava on Monday. It is the third in a series of protests which started in spring 2017. Listen to our show coming after the news bulletin to hear more on this topic. Furthermore, Slovaks living in Prague are expected to gather before the building of the Slovak Embassy on the same day in a show of solidarity with the protesters. The students harbour similar set of demands as during previous marches: investigation into the "Bašternák" and "Gorilla" cases, the ouster of Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (Smer-SD) and Police Corps President Tibor Gašpar as well as the resignation of Special Prosecutor Dušan Kováčik. The organizers of the protest invited Prime Minister Robert Fico to join them. In reaction to the invitation he offered the students to take part in a course at the International Anti-corruption Academy in Austria, according to TASR press agency.
