The public finance deficit will drop for the first time below 1% next year, specifically to 0.83% of GDP. This stems from the draft public administration budget for 2018-2020 approved by the Cabinet at its regular session on Wednesday. A balanced budget is aimed for 2020. Slovakia should report a state budget deficit of around €1.9 billion next year. Its budgetary income should total little less than €14 billion, while expenditures should be at almost €16 billion. The draft budget has been developed based on the current macroeconomic prognosis, envisaging Slovakia's GDP growth at 4.2% next year. Parliament should discuss the budget draft at the turn of November and December.
