Eight people died and one suffered injuries in a tragic road accident that took place near the village of Nitrica, Trenčín region, on Saturday. According to Jozef Minár of the Emergency Health Service Operational Centre, a truck collided with a van carrying seven Slovak nurses on their way home from Austria. The driver of the van and six nurses died on the spot, while the seventh lost her life after several operations in nearby Bojnice hospital. The truck driver suffered concussion and is in a stabilized state. As of Monday morning, the cause of the accident has not been published.
