V4 leaders hold a working dinner with European Commission President

According to a tweet by the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, consensus through compromise and cooperation, as well as the future of Europe, were on the menu of his working dinner with the leaders of the Visegrad Four countries. On Wednesday, Juncker hosted the prime ministers of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in Brussels. According to Slovakia's Permanent Representative to the EU, Peter Javorčík, Juncker came up with the idea of a closer meeting with the V4 leaders in late July during Slovak PM Fico's visit to Brussels, where he addressed the problem of double standards in quality food at a Europe-wide level. "Sometimes it's better to make some things clear in smaller formats. Then it might be translated into a more specific discussion within the European Council," stated Javorčík, not ruling out the possibility that the V4 leaders might repeat meetings in a similar format before the next EU summits.
