Interior Minister keeps his job

Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák (Smer-SD) is keeping his job as the opposition's proposal to oust him failed to be approved after a 13-hour long debate in Parliament. The Opposition parties wanted to oust Kaliňák for failing to fulfil his duties in the long term. The latest reason to vote for his dismissal came, according to the opposition, with the issuing of a fine from the Public Procurement Office. In a written response, the Interior Ministry claims that it was fined only for two public tenders, both of which took place while the ministry was led by the opposition.
