Public administration budget approved

Parliament passed the public administration budget for the year 2018 with a deficit of 0,83% of GDP. This would be the very first time that the public finances deficit had dropped under the 1% threshold. The public debt should thus drop to 49.9% of GDP. The core document for preparing the budget was the macroeconomic prognosis counting on a 4.2% growth of Slovak economy next year. The acceleration of the Slovak economy in comparison with the previous year is the result of the launch of production in car plants, leading to increased exports.
