Newly launched eHealth service battles problems

The recently launched electronic health care service isn't suffering from any chronic or fatal disease, stated head of the National Centre for Health Information (NCZI) Peter Blaškovitš on Tuesday, instead describing the problems related to eHealth as comparable to minor childhood illnesses which will be resolved. This followed criticism from Private Doctors Association (ASL) President Marián Šóth on Tuesday, when he stated the problems in the new eHealth system are making it difficult for outpatient doctors to carry out their work properly. Šóth went on to say that doctors on average lose one and a half hours per day on working with eHealth, whereas they could treat around ten patients in the same amount of time. Health Minister Tomas Drucker (a Smer-SD nominee) doesn't believe that the state has underestimated the situation surrounding the new system's launch, describing the issues as only "slight labour pains". Among the goals of the eHealth service are a decrease in the administrative burden which patients and doctors face, improved patient care and a reduction of the negative impacts of drug interactions.
