Petition for right to vote from abroad

Petition for right to vote from abroad

"It is our constitutional right to vote," Say the organisers of a petition, the goal of which is to allow Slovaks to go to the polls, even though they are not present in Slovakia on the day of elections. The petition, named "Srdcom doma" (With our hearts at home), should allow the citizens of the Slovak Republic, who have the right to vote, to attend elections and vote during referendums from abroad. The organisers are addressing Slovak MPs with a request to make changes to the law on elections. This would comprise presidential elections, elections for the bodies of self-governing regions, local municipalities, EU Parliament and general referendums. The organisers are a group of Slovaks based in Prague calling themselves "Pražská kaviareň" (Prague cafe).
