Star mime turning 80

The Slovak-born world-famous mime Milan Sládek is turning 80 on Friday. He started his career with performances in Bratislava in 1955. After the invasion of Soviet Army troops in 1968, he moved to Germany. There he set up the Theatre Kefka named after his famous harlequin character. Sládek came back to Slovakia after 1989 and set up an international pantomime institute but then left again in 2002. He will celebrate his jubilee in Bratislava with the shows Gift and Andy & Basquiat at the beginning of March.
