Slovak soldiers have trained 16 members of the Iraqi security forces in mechanical minesweeping, said Defence Ministry spokesperson Danka Capaková, as cited by the TASR press agency on Sunday. The course was part of the NATO Training and Capacity Building Activity in Iraq (NTCB-I). "As part of the mechanical minesweeping course, Iraqi trainees have learnt the principles of planning and guiding training in mechanical minesweeping," said Capáková. The Slovak armed forces have been operating in the country as part of the NATO non-combat training activity with the consent of Iraq. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg also attended a course led by Slovak professional soldiers, praising their work and thanking them for fulfilling their tasks with aplomb.
