On Tuesday, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini also met with Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matečná and representatives of the Agricultural and Food Administration Council. They informed that Slovakia would draw up a strategic paper on how Slovak agriculture should develop until 2030. "I hope that if such a document is adopted, future governments will also observe it, regardless of their preferences or what political parties they will be composed of," the Prime Minister stated. According to Matečná, the agriculture and food industry, as well as forestry, are a vital component of the environment that can help not only rural development but also climate change and a better environment. The Agricultural and Food Administrations Council pointed out that this document should determine how the Government and society contribute to advancing Slovak agriculture.
