OECD will help to prepare National Strategy to fight corruption

Slovakia will prepare a national strategy for an effective fight against corruption and fraud involving EU funds in cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and its expert teams. On Thursday, the Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation Richard Raši (Smer-SD) signed the Declaration on Cooperation in the Fight against Corruption and Fraud with the OECD's Deputy Secretary-General Mari Kiviniemi. "We want to implement the OECD proposals in this programme period, and they'll become the basis for measures for the next programme period beyond 2020," said Raši, adding that the initiative to approach the OECD came from Slovakia. Kiviniemi stressed that the main objective was to ensure a more effective policy that would improve the lives of people in Slovakia.
