Consumer inflation down in September

Consumer inflation slowed down in Slovakia in September, which matches expectations. According to the data of the Slovak Statistical Office, prices in Slovakia grew by 0.1% and the dynamics of their year-on-year growth mildly slowed down to 2.7%. As Ľubomír Koršňák, an analyst from UniCredit bank, points out, overall inflation did not fulfill expectations, but its structure brought some surprises. "In September, inflation was fueled by offer factors rather than demand factors," wrote Koršňák. According to him, year-on-year inflation should slightly slow down to the level of 2.5% at the end of the year.
