Slovaks want better recycling

Slovaks would welcome a better system of recycling waste, they fear toxins in cosmetics and food, and they negatively view expansion in logging. This stems from an international survey carried out by the Technical University in Zvolen, which was also conducted in the USA, Brazil, China, Sweden or Germany. Approximately two thirds of the Slovaks questioned think that the country needs a more effective system of recycling. This percentage is the highest when compared with other countries that took part in the research. According to the survey, one third of Slovaks have concerns about the environment. This attitude, however, is often not reflected in consumer choices, as in Slovakia, only around 22% of respondents always or almost always buy environmentally friendly products.
