Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) has confirmed the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Slovakia at the end of November. According to the prime minister, he was working in the area of defence at the Russian Embassy and was carrying out activities that were not in line with how a diplomat in a EU and NATO member state should behave. "Our political orientation is very clear, I declare it once again - it is pro-EU a pro- NATO. We have standard relations with the Russian Federation, and we have expelled this person in accordance with all the diplomatic customs and rules. I am glad that it was respected and that he left the territory of Slovakia, "said Pellegrini. The Russian authorities have not commented on this matter so far.
