Nearly half of the Polish meat checked by Slovakia's public health authority has turned out to be good beef originating in Slovakia, rather than infected meat from Poland as first suspected. So far, meat of Polish origin was found to have been delivered to one school canteen only. The intensive examination of Polish meat in Slovak mass caterers is ongoing. Agriculture minister Gabriela Matečná (Slovak National Party/SNS) stated on Tuesday that checks on roads and in facilities, as well as lab tests, are being performed. She was speaking after a session of the extraordinary parliamentary committee on agriculture and environment. She added that Slovakia is doing everything in its power in connection with high-risk Polish meat.
