Gov't to extend aid to Roma villages affected by fires

The Roma villages of Mníšek nad Hnilcom and Závadka (both Košice region), where more than 70 people lost the roofs over their heads in the wake of fires, have asked the Government for help in securing replacement housing. On Wednesday the Government approved the aid of €25,000 per portable building. "I visited both locations and I'm glad that the Government approved the contributions for the two villages. Now they can provide better housing conditions for their people and help them rise to their feet again. We also agreed on additional support measures with the mayors of the two villages," said Government Proxy for Roma Communities Ábel Ravasz.
