Non-parliamentary Parties to Discuss Cooperation

Leaders of three extra-parliamentary parties - Miroslav Beblavý of Together, Michal Truban of Progressive Slovakia (PS) and Alojz Hlina of the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) - have agreed to meet on Monday (July 1) in order to discuss cooperation ahead of the general election slated for next year, Beblavý and Hlina confirmed for TASR on Tuesday. "It makes sense to talk and to seek a way to avoid 'sinking' each other. Parties that want to bring about change should show that they're able to communicate so that they don't attack a partner," Hlina told TASR. However, he reiterated that KDH will run as an independent party in the 2020 general election. The leaders concurred that cooperation between political parties close in terms of values is needed in order to address Slovakia's problems and new challenges.
