Companies: Political subjects lack economic policy strategy

Slovakia lacks the economic policy strategy that would define the economic direction of the country and identify concrete steps to achieve objectives, said Tibor Gregor, the executive director of Klub 500, a civic association uniting companies with over 500 employees. According to him, the state should define where it wants to be in 2050, "what should be its competitiveness, what the economy should be built on," citing China, Japan and Germany as examples. "This is what we should do. We haven't seen anything like this for many years in the coalition and no political party has elaborated this kind of material, either," stated Gregor. The Economy Ministry in reaction said that Slovakia does have the Economic Policy Strategy until 2030 that was approved last year.
