Trial in journalist murder case should begin in fall

Charges for the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancé Martina Kušnírová will be pressed in the fall. Supervising prosecutors with the Special Prosecution Office announced this at Monday's news conference, adding that before the court cases begin, the parties concerned can ask to inspect the files. This should take place in September. Unless a significant investigation breakthrough occurs, the group around the accused Alena Zs. will be charged with preparing and executing the murder. The prosecutors still have doubts about who shot at the journalist but are working with the version that the killer is Miroslav M., who confessed to doing so earlier this year. Accused in the case are also his cousin Tomáš Sz. and Zoltán A., who has been cooperating with the police from the beginning. According to prosecutors, Marián Kočner was the ultimate party that ordered the journalist's murder.
