IMF more pessimistic about Slovakia’s public finances

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has adjusted its predictions regarding Slovakia's public finances. Not only that, but the IMF even expects more negative developments in the country's public finances next year than the Slovak Finance Ministry does in its draft budget for the next few years. According to the IMF's October prognosis, the state deficit should rise by 0.1 percentage points year-on-year to 0.8 percent of GDP. It should continue to increase over the following years as well. The Finance Ministry's draft budget for next few years predicts that the budget deficit will reach 0.68 percent of GDP.
