Environment Minister László Sólymos (Most-Híd) on Thursday announced his resignation in response to his affray in a drunken state on Wednesday. On Wednesday evening, the police detained Sólymos who had allegedly in a drunken state become embroiled in a skirmish in Bratislava city centre. The tabloid pluska.sk broke the news. According to the SME daily, the minister was at a restaurant on Laurinská Street with his brother when the two started quarrelling with the restaurant staff. Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) on Thursday expressed his concern over the incident and asked the minister to apologise to the public. Before announcing his resignation, Laszlo Sólymos apologised for his misconduct.
