Climate deterioration during greenhouse phases

Climate deterioration during greenhouse phases

Many of the great mountain peaks we climb today were formed during the cretaceous period; between 145 and 65 million years ago. It was the age of what many consider the most popular dinosaurs, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex, the Velociraptor, and the Triceratops, but it was also the age of a mass extinction and severe climate change. So what can we learn about the effects of our current changing climate and what's in store for our planet's future? Gavin Shoebridge spoke to Dr Jozef Michalik from the Institute of Earth Sciences within the Slovak Academy of Sciences to learn about a research project shining new light onto an old story.
