Slovakia’s network for the Internet of Things

Slovakia’s network for the Internet of Things

Imagine if you could put sensors almost everywhere, monitoring your home, car, business, and everything in between. From smoke detectors to water meters to bus and taxi locators and much more, the possibilities are almost endless. In fact, the technology exists already, so why aren't homes and businesses capitalising on this new phenomenon called the "IOT" or Internet of Things?

This is expected to change soon, however, with his firm unveiling plans to roll out a country-wide cellular network within a year. But what's the difference between this new network and those offered by existing mobile phone operators, and what can you actually use it for? Radio Slovakia International's Gavin Shoebridge found out.
