Mikuláš: a saint, a gift-giver and a town

On December 6^th, well technically, on the eve before, Slovak kids shine their boots, leave them in the window and wait for St. Nicholas, or Mikuláš to come and fill them up with sweets and fruit (if they have behaved well) or potatoes and coal (if they haven't). In this special feature, Zuzana Botiková will tell you more about some of the traditions connected to the Mikuláš day in Slovakia. Moreover, you will also learn that Mikuláš is not only a person, a saint, but also a town.
