If you are planning to hike in the Slovak mountains this weekend, bear in mind that the peaks of High Tatras might still be covered with snow, thus winter gear is recommended. The trail Veľká Svišťovka-Chata pri Zelenom plese (The chalet by the Green Lake) is closed both ways due to damage caused by the torrential rain. The valley Parichvost in the Western Tatras continues to be impassable due to broken bridges over the stream. The old trail to the Ždiar chalet is closed temporarily due to timber harvesting.
