"I cannot imagine Slovak dances on skates!" a small Slovak boy told Zuzana Botiková as he was preparing for his folk dance performance. Why this peculiar combination? Well, the boy comes from Calgary, where ice-skates are worn as often as regular shoes. There is a lively Slovak community in Alberta, Canada, with a children's folk group Slniečko founded there only few years ago, in 2011.
