“Terror knows no nationality”

On Tuesday morning, people across the world woke up to the media overflowing with the news of a bomb attack which took place on Monday evening in Manchester, UK, leaving 22 people dead and more than 100 injured. While Slovakia's top officials were sending condolences to their British counterparts, the Slovak Foreign ministry kept in close contact with the Slovak embassy in the UK, finding out whether there were any Slovak citizens involved in the Manchester attack. Based on Tuesday's information, no Slovaks were among the victims or the injured. Nevertheless, there are a considerable number of Slovaks living in the Manchester area. To get their account on what was happening in the city following this sad event, Zuzana Botiková phoned Martina Carr and Tomáš Paulík, who are settled in Manchester.
