The widely followed story of the mother bear Inga and her two cubs, who were spotted in a tree in an inhabited area in early May had a very sad ending. The mother bear was shot dead and the cubs were taken to a zoo, since, according to the employees of the State Nature Conservation Agency, they posed threat to the people. However, such encounters between people and bears are becoming less and less rare, moreover they are often intentionally provoked. So how can bears and people coexist in the same place? The key words: secure trashcans.
