Lest we forget...

Lest we forget...

Lest we forget, the plea not to forget past sacrifices, is often found as the only wording on war memorials. Unfortunately, people often forget and repeat the same mistakes and the same conflicts. On Sunday, November 11, people around the world gathered at war memorials to commemorate the end of the Great War. In Slovakia, part of the celebrations took place in the Bratislava borough of Čunovo.

The 11th of November is also the day of veterans. Army historian Pavol Vitko has dedicated 25 years to the study of Czech and Slovak veterans, especially those serving in the British Royal Air Force during World War Two.

Despite the many tough days an army mission brings to people who join the military, it can also bring romantic situations. You may know a few from the movies, but here's one first hand from our broadcast.
