The National Day of the Slovak Republic at EXPO 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan, is taking place on Tuesday, July 18. Alongside cultural traditions, Slovakia wants to present itself as a modern and technologically advanced country. With an area of 354m² the Slovak pavilion represents Slovakia as a country with developed industry, innovative potential and a highly qualified and scientific labour force through five thematic areas. The total budget of the Slovak Republic at EXPO Astana is 2.66 million euro. The Slovak delegation, which travelled for the National Day to Astana on Monday, is headed by the State Secretary of the Economy Ministry Vojtech Ferencz. "During the National Day, we will present the progress and achievements our country has made, especially in the field of energy, research, science and innovation," stated Ferencz. Companies which will be introducing themselves within the Slovak pavilion include Farm Trade, Ecocapsule, Chargebrella, the tourist destination of Štrbské Pleso, along with a general presentation of tourism in Slovakia. On Wednesday, July 19, a business forum will be held with the participation of delegations from Slovakia and Kazakhstan. The two sides are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development and Kazakhstan.
