A honey trap for influential people?

Alena Zs., charged with ordering the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnirová, communicated with several influential people over the past few years, Dennik N daily reported on Monday, citing sources involved in the investigation. Kušnirová's mother has made public new information in this respect. Deputy Prosecutor-General René Vanek, Parliamentary Vice-chair and member of Smer-SD leadership Martin Glváč, MP and We Are Family leader Boris Kollár, Bratislava Governor Juraj Droba, and Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party) are allegedly on the list. According to the daily, Alena Zs.'s messages communicating with influential people were obtained by investigators after her cell phone and computer were seized. She archived them, and it's possible she may also have used them for blackmail.

Deputy Prosecutor-General René Vanek confirmed that he was contacted by an unknown woman through Messenger in 2013, since which time they've written to each other "once in a while" about simple private things. According to Dennik N the last time they wrote to each other was three days prior to the arrest of Alena Zs. last September. On Tuesday Prosecutor General Jaromír Čižnár recalled Vanek from his post. He will remain, however, a prosecutor.

Alena Zs. allegedly exchanged photos and messages also with Parliamentary Vice-chair Martin Glváč, who denies this. She was also in touch with We Are Family Chairman Boris Kollár. They were meeting each other about ten years ago, and, according to the daily, Kollár financially helped her. The politician admitted the meetings immediately after Alena Zs. was detained. She also said that Bratislava Governor Juraj Droba and Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko were friends of hers. Droba says he did not meet her, but communicated with her only electronically. Danko denies any communication with Alena Zs., claiming that he's never met or seen her. Last year some reports appeared online that Daniel Lipšic - lawyer and former justice minister - had been also in touch with her. He has claimed that this was a forgery, and a smear campaign. According to Dennik N, the investigators haven't yet found any such communication.
